YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- Police are investigating two separate fatal incidents over the weekend: an apparent shooting, and a stabbing.

According to a police report, James Brown, 33, was found dead in a pool of blood and shattered glass on Truesdale Avenue Saturday morning shortly before 4. Police found a gunshot wound in the center of his head.

No suspect has been identified in the shooting but police believe the shattered glass found on the scene may be from an automobile.

Another homicide was reported Sunday morning shortly before 1:30. Demorris Ivan West, 28, was found bleeding from a stab wound from his chest on the second floor of an apartment on Hilton Avenue.

According to a report, West came to the apartment, apparently already injured, asking for help. He stumbled inside and collapsed on the dining room floor. The person inside the apartment then ran to a neighbor to call 911. However, police say no blood was found leading to the apartment or on the stairway to the second floor.
