Hubbard showcases new athletic facilities

Posted: Updated:

HUBBARD, Ohio - Hubbard School district showcased improvements made to their school's athletic facilities.

On Tuesday, the public was invited to tour the new football stadium. The field, scoreboard and band shelter are the first of several renovations.

"Phase-two, which is being worked on, is the re-surfacing of our track complex, which is used by our entire community almost all year long. We're putting in a girls softball field and we're also putting in a boys baseball field," said Superintendent Richard Buchenic.

"Our student athletes really deserve this," said Athletic Director Chuck Montgomery. "The community has really stepped forward and just really supported us big time."

The projects are expected to cost about $2.8 million. About 20 percent has been provided by private donations.
