Slippery roads blamed for West Middlesex crash that killed Stoneboro woman

Posted: Updated:

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. - Investigators believe weather was a major factor in a two vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Stoneboro woman.

Southwest Regional Police Chief Riley Smoot tells 21 News that 38-year-old Mairi Smith was killed shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday when the pickup truck she was driving went out of control and struck an oncoming vehicle on Main Street in West Middlesex.

The coroner pronounced Smith dead at the scene.

Smoot says that road conditions were icy at the time of the accident.
