Great Groceries: Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

1 (3 to 4 lb.) beef roast

1 (12 oz.) can cola

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup chili sauce

3/4 cup ketchup

1 package dry onion soup mix

1 onion, coarsely chopped

4 to 5 red potatoes, quartered

2 cups carrots

Place roast into a large resealable freezer bag. Add cola, chili sauce, ketchup, onion soup, onion, potatoes and carrots. Seal bag and turn to mix and coat the roast. Place bag flat in the freezer.

To cook, thaw bag in the freezer overnight. Transfer from the bag to a slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
