SHARON, Pa. - The Sharon community came out together Sunday night to mourn the loss of three people killed in a two-car, head-on crash on Friday.

One victim was a respected husband and father, 50-year-old John Zdelar of Brookfield. The others were two senior Sharon football players, 18-year-old Cory Swartz and 17-year-old Evan Gill.

The loss came just as a community was celebrating a trip to the playoffs.

Sunday night they lit candles to find their way through the darkness.

"Nothing meant more than to be here today for everybody, because it just shows how close the Shenango Valley is."  said Haley Morris, a senior at Sharpsville High  School.

For Sharpsville cheerleader Brookelinn Vakasy, it's a personal loss too painful to measure. She dated Cory Schwartz for 2 years. "I would tell him I loved him more than anything. And if anything, I would just want to bring him back.", said Vakasy.

Those who knew Sharon Seniors Cory and Evan are forced to learn a painful lesson in life and death.

"They were two really great people and they didn't have to go away the way that they did.  I just want everyone to be careful, because no matter how much you think that it can't be you, it can be.", said Samantha Lait of Sharon.

As the Sharon Tigers prepare to lay their friends to rest, they're honored to take part in Monday's playoff game in Erie in memory of Cory and Evan. Two members of the team will be wearing Cory and Evan's jerseys during the game to make sure no one forgets.

A Sharon community standing united, and standing strong in the face of a triple tragedy.
