WARREN, Ohio - Warren Fire Chief Ken Nussle is alerting residents of a smoke alarm scam.

The caller claims to be from the Warren Fire Department and offers to come into the home to check the smoke alarm.

Nussle said his department has not authorized any such calls and advises people to notify the fire department if they receive such a call.
