YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Three federal officials are being recognized for their roles in dismantling a Youngstown street gang.
Attorneys Robert F. Corts and Daniel J. Riedl received the Director's Award for Superior Service from the U.S. Justice Department for helping to take down the LSP gang back in 2011.
ATF agent John Smerglia received the United States Attorney's Award for Distinguished Public Service.
Twenty-two people were convicted on racketeering and other charges in the investigation into the gang, whose name stands for Laclede, Sherwood, Princeton and Parkview Avenues.
