New company adds jobs in Sharon

Posted: Updated:

SHARON, Pa. - Oil and gas exploration is a major factor behind new jobs and the grand opening of an international company in Sharon.

Noise Solutions is based in Canada and is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of noise suppression equipment. It's CEO says it chose to expand in Mercer county because a lot of it's NEW business is coming from this area.

"The big thing that prompted the expansion here is all the activity with the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, all of the work that's going to go into the liquefied natural gas processes," said company president Scott McDonald.

Noise Solutions has taken over a 55-thousand square foot former Winner International warehouse on Vine Street in Sharon.

McDonald says they have hired 30 employees and anticipate the hiring of a hundred more workers over the next three years.
