Safety upgrades on the way for a busy Trumbull County intersection

Posted: Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - Changes are coming, for a sometimes hazardous intersection in Trumbull County.

Trumbull County Commissioners approved a safety upgrade project Wednesday for the intersection of Elm and North River Roads.

Improvements will include anti-skid pavement, wider lanes and new traffic signals.

"This is an intersection that had a little difficulty with the drainage," said commissioner Frank Fuda.

The Trumbull County Engineer's Office says the intersection has the highest rate of accidents among the intersections it maintains in the county.

The project is expected to cost up to $500,000. The work will begin in June and should be finished by the end of the summer.
