Boil alert issued for residents in Austintown and Canfield

A boil advisory has been issued for all Youngstown Water residents in Canfield and Austintown.

Around 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening residents living in the those communities found themselves without water.

Youngstown Water Commissioner Harry Johnson tells 21 News that there was a problem at the Webb Pump Station and that a backup generator failed to kick in.

By 8:30 p.m. on Sunday Johnson told said that the system was working again.

An hour after that, it was back to full pressure.

Water customers in Canfield and Austintown need to boil their water for at least a minute until further notice.

The 14 year-old admitted to his mother via Snapchat that he posted on social media his plan to shoot up the school and then kill himself, according to a police report.  Another student's parent alerted school officials about the social media post, prompting a school-wide lock down, the report says.

    A federal investigation is underway for two Texans accused of using card skimmers on automated teller machines in the valley.  Suspects Daniel Forentin, 30, and Cristina Rolea, 24, of Fort Worth are accused of tapping about one dozen ATMs in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties, according to public information officer Mike Tobin of the U.S. Attorney's Office.
