Off road romp ends with charges against Austintown couple

Posted: Updated:

A man and woman from Austintown face charges in Pennsylvania after their sport utility vehicle ran into a Pennsylvania State Police Cruiser.

A police report says that 26-year-old Allen Collet and 24-year-old Jessica Wolfe took a Hummer out for some off road driving in Lawrence County on Wednesday.

When police found them, their vehicle was stopped in the travel lane of Route 551 just south of West Petersburg Road.

Officers say that Collet was passed out behind the wheel, with the Hummer still in drive.  Investigators say when they tried to secure the SUV, Collet woke up and placed the transmission into neutral. That's when the Hummer drifted backwards into the police cruiser.

Police say that Wolfe originally fled from the vehicle. When she returned, police say she began to resist officers.

Collet was jailed on 12 charges including DUI, disorderly conduct, improper stopping, driving under suspension, failure to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving, reckless driving, and violating restrictions on alcoholic beverages.

State police say Wolfe is being charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and permitting DUI.

"Then the water runs down and it backs up just like a dam, so when it backs ...More >>
