Ohio woman gives birth in back seat of car

Posted: Updated:
CINCINNATI (AP) - A Cincinnati-area woman has given birth to a baby boy in an old high school parking lot.

WCPO-TV reports that Hamilton County dispatchers got a frantic call around 3 a.m. Saturday from a man driving his wife on Interstate 75 toward the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The man had to exit the freeway and pull into a parking lot, where his son was born minutes later in the back seat.

Dispatch records show that first responders arrived on the scene just in time to cut the umbilical court.

The mother and her newborn were taken to the hospital, and authorities say the family is doing well.

Their identities and other details were not immediately available Saturday.
