Former Trumbull County Animal Welfare League employee pleads guilty to theft

WARREN, Ohio -

A former employee of the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League used the charity's funds to fill up his own personal gas tank.

Andrew Austin pleaded guilty to theft on Thursday in Warren. 

Prosecutors said when Austin worked for Trumbull County Animal Welfare League, he used the organization's credit card to rack up $5,800 in gas charges.

Austin has paid back the money to the charity. He will be sentenced at a later date.
