WARREN, Ohio -

Warren police say that officers investigating a suspected burglary on Wednesday, turned up $60,000 worth of marijuana inside a home on Washington Street NE.

The reported burglary was on 429 Washington, but when officers noticed that the door was ajar on the neighboring home at 431 Washington, they went inside to check for suspects.

Officers found that an upstairs bedroom appeared to have been ransacked and noticed a plastic sandwich bag of marijuana lying on the bed.  They also spotted two digital scales, a Mason Jar with suspected marijuana residue, a plate that contained suspected heroin, and three gallon size plastic bags containing marijuana residue. No suspects were located.

The  Street Crimes Unit obtained a warrant to search the home, and found a large black garbage bag that contained approximately nine pounds of marijuana, a bag of marijuana seeds, $505.00 in U.S. currency, a small amount of crack cocaine, and prescription medication.

The tenant of 431 Washington NE, LaJuna Brown, was arrested when he arrived at the residence and transported to the Trumbull County Jail.

Brown was charged in Warren Municipal court with possessing marijuana and heroin.

Investigators say the approximate street value of the marijuana is more than $60,000.
