Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership sponsoring mural competition

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

An old industrial site in Warren will be getting a facelift.

All that is left of the former Mahoning Side Power Plant is a retaining wall.

The concrete will be a canvas for a mural sponsored by the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership.

Friday, residents had a chance to start voting on which sketch they would like to see on the wall.

“We opened up the theme so artists could submit whatever they wanted. We did encourage people to explore notions of civic pride, but we got all kinds of really wonderful submissions. I'd say all 27 of these sketches are worthy of going up on the wall,” said Matt Martin with the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership.

Voting will continue through the end of the month. You can vote at the Trumbull Art Gallery on Courthouse Square during normal business hours and online at tnpwarren.org.
