Pennsylvania state semi-final basketball game being played at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- For the first time in Mahoning and Shenango Valley history, a Pennsylvania state semi-final basketball game is being played at Youngstown State University.
Kennedy Catholic and Farrell are playing for the fourth time this season, and the winner will advance to the Class A State Championship game Friday in Hershey.
Farrell Athletic Director Dan Dragicevic said, "This game needs to be in the biggest possible venue. Youngstown is 20 minutes away from both schools. This is great for both schools and their fans. Today an excellent decision was made. Having the Farrell-Kennedy game at YSU was the best choice."
Dragicevic went onto say, "These kids will remember this for the rest of their lives. Giving those kids the opportunity to play in front of a lot of people in a big venue is the best thing that can be done for them. Remember that's what we are here for, the kids. This decision is the best thing for them."
Tip off from Beeghly Center is set for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The last high school game at Beeghly Center was LeBron James and Akron Saint Vincent - Saint Mary against George Junior Republic in 2002.
In Class AA, West Middlesex faces Aliquippa at New Castle High School, with the winner advancing to the state championship game.
