Investigators claim child sex crimes were committed in Niles and Hubbard

WARREN, Ohio - A 45-year-old Niles man is under arrest for sex crimes involving a child that allegedly occurred in Niles, Hubbard City and Township.
The Trumbull County Grand Jury secretly handed up a 15 count indictment against Christopher Kavalesky, charging him with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, voyeurism, illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, and tampering with evidence.
Authorities say Kavalesky would take videos of a girl as young as ten years old when she was in her underwear or undressed.
According to the indictment, the alleged crimes involving the girl occurred over four year period, beginning in January 2010 when the girl was ten years old until October 2014 when the child had turned 15.
Prosecutors say that Kavalesky was also in possession of digital images depicting female children engaged in sexual activities.
In addition, the indictment says that Kavalesky attempted to hide or destroy evidence after learning that he was being investigated.
Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman describes the case as multi-jurisdictional since the alleged crimes occurred in Niles, Hubbard City and Hubbard Township.
Kavalesky was booked into the Trumbull County jail on the charges.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Friday and faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
His bond is set at $100,000.
