YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Several posters have been removed from the YSU campus after some students found them to be offensive.
Posters promoting the celebration of “Straight Pride Week” asked students to join a demonstration against those who promote their sexual orientation.
YSU's public information officer Ron Cole says the posters are counter the college's mission to create a diverse campus.
Cole says the university is looking into any violations of the student code. If any are found, disciplinary action could follow.
However, Cole noted that any possible action would have to be tempered with considerations for freedom of speech.
University officials do not believe that an any organization is behind the posters.
