Last of 3 convicts in 1969 Ohio murders dies in custody
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio authorities say the last of three men convicted in the 1969 murders of four women during a bank robbery has died.
A Department of Corrections spokeswoman says Raymond Kassow died Sunday evening in Franklin Medical Center in Columbus from "natural causes." He was 70.
Delhi (DEL'-hi) Township police issued a press release saying "all three monsters are now deceased." The robbers shocked residents of the western Cincinnati suburb by herding three female customers and a female teller into a vault and shooting them to leave no witnesses.
They were all caught, convicted and received death sentences that were later commuted to life in prison.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says of Kassow's death: "Good riddance. He executed innocent women."
