Warren man wanted for molesting nine-year-old girl

RAVENNA, Ohio -

Authorities are asking members of the public to help them find a Warren man wanted for molesting a girl as young as nine-years-old in Portage County.

Portage County Sheriff David Doak has issued a warrant for the arrest of forty-six-year-old Keith A. McCarty, whose last known address was 933 Martha Street, Warren.

In May, the Portage County Grand Jury handed up a 24 count indictment against McCarty which included charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, sexual battery, and unlawful conduct with a minor.

According the indictment, the alleged crimes occurred between October, 2005 and April 2009.

In May, McCarty pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual battery and faced a five year prison term.

McCarty was free on $50,000 bond with GPS electronic monitoring, but left the courthouse before he was to be sentenced on June 29.

McCarty is a white male, 5’ 06”, 160 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.  McCarty is known to be driving a 2004 Ford Ranger 4 door extended cab, silver in color with Ohio license plate number GIW9658.

McCarty is known to frequently be in the Ravenna City area of Portage County. 

Sheriff Doak is requesting that anyone with information as to McCarty’s whereabouts to take no action other than to contact the Portage County Sheriff at 330-296-5100, extension zero.
