NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are trying to find out who broke into a woman's home on Vance Road late Tuesday night in New Wilmington.

The woman, 57, told police she was home alone when someone opened the gate leading to her front porch.

The suspects were able to open the screen door and attempted to open the locked front door.

The woman's dogs started barking and she turned on lights inside so the suspects knew someone was home.

In a failed attempt to open the front door, the suspects went to the back of the house. They tried to open her car and set off the alarm.

They then began banging on the outside of the house.

The woman reported she remotely deactivated her car alarm. The suspects tried to break in two more times and set off the alarm both times.

The woman said the suspects finally left, but she didn't know what direction or how they left.

The woman was not harmed.
