YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A new partnership in the city of Youngstown focuses on rehabilitating vacant homes rather than tearing them down.

The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation and The Mahoning County Land Bank are working together to acquire homes that have been empty and financially distressed.

The Land Bank seeks tax foreclosure on the property through the county court system to clean up the title and then sells the house to the YNDC for court costs.

The group then renovates the property with private money and gets it ready for sale.

The rehabilitation of homes is happening all over the city and not just on the south side.
