Mom says another missing Warren woman knew James Brooks

FARRELL, Pa. - The family of a second missing female from Warren has come forward with concerns about their daughters connection to a man jailed in Ashtabula county on a charge of abuse of a corpse.
Daniell Wilder is seeking information about her daughter Jasmaine Smith of Warren, who was last seen the week of June fifth when she attended her sister's graduation in Farrell.
"It was probably a week, week and a half later. I'm her mother and I started getting worried I hadn't heard from her, I contacted the people in our family that we know that she would contact and nobody had heard from her," Wilder said.
Smith went missing about a month before 18-year old Alesha Bell was reported missing from Warren. Last week a man formerly from Warren, James Brooks, was arrested on drug charges in Ashtabula and also charged with abuse of a corpse after human bone fragments were recovered on his property.
The identity or identities associated with the bones have not been determined.
Authorities did take a DNA sample from the mother of Alesha Bell to compare with DNA evidence collected at Brook's home. Jasmaine Smith's mother says her daughter knew James Brooks.
"Yes, she knew him, some of her friends and associates of hers they know him as well, said Wilder.
Wilder says she just wants answers and is hoping someone will come forward.
"As a mother I'm just asking if somebody knows something please contact your local police department, Warren police, Youngstown police, I feel that someone knows something about my daughter"
Smith has brown eyes, black hair, stands 5'8" tall, and weighs 145 pounds.
Police say anyone with information about her whereabouts can contact the Mercer County Department of Public Safety at 724-662-6110 or the Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Department at 724-983-2720.
There is also new information about James Brooks.
Ashtabula County Prosecutor Nicholas Iarucci says that Brooks admitted to having contact with Alesha Bell the day she went missing. Brooks also admitted to running an escort service from May of 2014 through May of 2015. At this point, there has been no connection made between the escort service and Alesha Bell.
