Boardman market owner puzzled over BCI search

Posted: Updated:
NILES, Ohio -

There's fallout from those local raids signed off on by the Ohio Attorney Generals Office last week.

Those raids included a search of the Cafaro Company Headquarters and Niles City Offices.

And what they turned up has some long time business owners not happy.

According to a receipt for property from the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office, among the items confiscated from the Niles Building Department were drawings and blueprints for Lariccia's Italian Market Place.

But the owners of Lariccia's Italian Market Place that's actually located on Southern Boulevard in Boardman tell me that is their only location, and they don't know who would have signed off on any blueprints or permits in Niles.

They want to make it clear they want their name disassociated with the property in Niles, wherever that may be.

They say Lariccia's Italian Market Place has built a great reputation since 1907 and any affiliation with the FBI, or BCI and a search warrant is just not accurate.

A spokesperson with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation tells 21 News they have not mentioned any names regarding the search warrants other than the Cafaro Company and the Niles Building Department.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office who filled out the receipt for property, did not return a call for comment.
