$3.8 million earmarked for Mahoning and Columbiana job training

MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio -

$3.8 million dollars will be used to help train young workers in Mahoning and Columbiana counties.

The Mahoning Columbiana Training Association will administer the funds to provide work experience and job training to find employment for 16- to 24-year-olds.

MCTA Director Bert Cene says the combination of Federal Workforce Funding and Temporary Aid For Needy Family's will provide $2.6 million for Mahoning County and $1.2 million for Columbiana.

The new comprehensive program is scheduled to begin July 1.
