Ohio Lt. Governor prepared to take over as top dog in Columbus

Posted: Updated:
NILES, Ohio -

Should governor Kasich's campaign for the White House be successful, Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor says she is ready to take over as top dog in Columbus.

Taylor told a crowd of Valley Republicans that she is not ashamed to throw her support behind Governor Kasich for President. She spoke to the crowd on the importance of leadership and the success Kasich has brought Ohio.

"From the beginning, since day one, I have always been in a position that I could become Governor at anytime unexpectedly and so I've always had to be prepared," said Taylor. "I've had the great experience the last five years working hand in hand with John Kasich, dealing with the difficult issues we face here in Ohio."

Thursday's event is a traditional dinner held at the McKinley Library Auditorium in Niles. This year, the dinner serves as the kick-off to a very important election year.
