CALCUTTA, Ohio - The Ohio Valley of Technology announced the introduction of a new grant program designed to assist recent high school graduates.

The Promise Grant provides $1,000 dollars to individuals who pursue an associates degree within eight months following graduating high school.

There is no application process to receive the grant. Eligible students are automatically identified as recipients during the admission process.

The grant applies applies to four semesters of classes, equaling a total value of $4,000 dollars.

"The Promise Grant is a win-win for our community and represents OVCT's continued commitment to the economic growth of our region,” said Scott Rogers, OVCT Campus President.

Rogers also said students are able to pursue career training, learning marketable skills while managing the financial investment necessary to obtain a worthwhile post-secondary education.

OVCT offers a variety of Associate Degree programs, with a focus on in-demand occupations in health care. All programs are designed to result in nationally-recognized certifications in the respective career field.
