WARREN, Ohio - A rally is planned for Thursday during a Warren man's hearing in a case involving bestiality.

Salvador Rendon pleaded not guilty Monday to animal cruelty charges. The 61-year-old is accused of performing sex acts on his two dogs.

Officials tell 21 News that Rendon had sex with a male boxer and female boxer at least 10 times over the past six years.

Rendon's wife is said to be the one who reported him after she says she caught him in the act.

Those attending the rally want to call attention to lawmakers to pass a bill that would make bestiality illegal in Ohio.

Ohio does not have a law against bestiality, however, Ohio Senator Jim Hughes is sponsoring a bill to make bestiality illegal in the state. The measure is currently in committee.

The rally will be held at 12:30 p.m. outside of the Warren Municipal Court.
