Liberty Police say they believe a man and woman found shot to death in their apartment late Thursday may have known the person or people who killed them.

Rich Tisone is the Chief for Liberty Township Police, "We believe based on the evidence at the scene that the suspect quite possibly knew the victims.  So we're going on that premise at this time."

Detectives say they received a call that two people had been shot at an apartment complex on Frederick Street, right off Belmont Avenue just before midnight on Thursday.

The victims have been identified as 62-year-old Jesse Cooper, a resident of the apartment located at 3021 Frederick Street and Gloria Khoury, 40, of Logan Avenue, Liberty Township.

"We did some investigation and basically we've got some suspects in mind so we're looking into those as well," Chief Tisone said.

Police are trying to determine the motive for the shooting deaths.

Both victims have criminal records with police.

Chief Tisone says they are following up on several leads.
