YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown woman is in the Mahoning County jail after she allegedly ran from Boardman Police, crashing her car containing four children.

Township police say they had pulled the car over for running a red light at around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

When the officer found out that the driver was wanted in Trumbull County, the car drove away, leading police on a chase along Market Street.

Police say the car was driving at such a high rate of speed, they discontinued the pursuit.

However, the car struck a utility pole along Midlothian Boulevard and crashed into concrete block at the library on Market Street.

The four children in the car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Their mother and driver of the car, Tabitha Lee, 28, of Youngstown was arrested on four counts of child endangering, as well as failing to comply with the order of a police officer, theft, and obstructing official business.

In January of last year, Lee pleaded no contest in Girard Municipal court to child endangering, theft and obstructing official business.

According to court records, when Lee failed to report to her probation officer in February, a warrant for her arrest.
