PAM Transport employees rescue coworker pinned under trailer

Posted: Updated:
NORTH JACKSON, Ohio -

An employee at a local transportation company is lucky to be alive after getting pinned under a tractor trailer Wednesday afternoon.

Police say a 21-year-old employee at PAM Transport Inc. in North Jackson was repairing the trailer when the braces collapsed, causing the 53-foot loaded box truck to fall on top of him.

Police received the call just before 2:30 p.m. By the time first responders arrived on the scene, the man was already out from underneath the truck. Officers say his coworkers were able to use a forklift to lift the trailer off of him.

The man was transported to St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown for his injuries.

He is expected to be OK.
