Shenango police again ask for help finding hit and run driver

Posted: Updated:
SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Lawrence Co., Pa. -

Police are asking members of the public to take a closer look at surveillance images that show a car running down a man walking along a road just south of New Castle in May.

Investigators on Thursday released what they describe as digitally enhanced photographs from the night of May 14, when a man was struck at about 10:30 pm on the 2000 block of East Washington Street near Cass Street.

David Sheller of New Castle was hospitalized for treatment of road rash, as well as fractures of the wrist, foot and ankle.

Police say after propelling Sheller into the air, the car did not slow down, but continued to travel in the direction of New Castle.

Witnesses tell police that the hit and run vehicle was traveling too fast to obtain a detailed identification.

Police are directing people's attention to the dark colored vehicle in the background of the image to help them identify a suspect. The Jeep in the foreground is not involved in the incident.

Shenango Township Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 724-654-2243.
