YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A new vehicle will be roaming the streets of Mahoning County, delivering books as part of the Public Library's Pop-Up program.

Library Communications Director Janet Loew says the new van has been specially outfitted to be part of the mobile community outreach service.

The vehicle will travel around Youngstown and Mahoning County providing books, materials, and other services to community gathering points.

Visitors to the pop-up library can check out books and DVDs, return materials, sign up for a library card, or find out about other library programs.

Library staff members travel with the van to help assist customers.

The Library says the new van was purchased with the help of a $50,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Board of the State Library of Ohio.

A schedule of upcoming pop-up library appearances can be found here.
