Posted: Updated:

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police have been searching for a woman suspected of leaving her three young children at a motel alone for up to three days.

Police haven't named the woman or the children, who range in age from 8 months to 3 years old

Police say the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families alerted investigators to the situation Sunday. The children were reportedly found alone in a room at the Days Inn on Banksville Road.

The children were taken to a hospital as a precaution. Police haven't announced an arrest.
