State labor leaders speak in support of Hillary Clinton

Posted: Updated:

Labor leaders from all over the state have come to the Valley to stand in support of Hillary Clinton for President.

The Ohio AFL-CIO, United Steelworkers, and the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council held a news conference at the Operating Engineers Local 66, District 2, located at 291 McClurg Road in Boardman.

Tim Burga, the president of the Ohio AFL-CIO says, Clinton has a real plan for America to create jobs, and raise wages.

That group says Clinton's plan includes the largest infrastructure project since the Eisenhower administration.

They believe Donald Trump's record of how he's treated workers speaks for itself.

"Donald Trump claims to like working people, he just doesn't like to pay them. He claims to want businesses to make things in America, as long as it's not his businesses. Donald Trump wants us to believe that workers are getting a raw deal - yet his proposal for America to compete globally is to drive down wages right here in the United States," Burga said.

The labor leaders say in the next 71 days until the election they will be talking to both union and non-union workers about who they feel is the best choice for president.
