CANFIELD, Ohio - The City of Canfield isn't escaping the growing trend of reported clown sightings around the country.

Police Chief Chuck Colucci tells 21 News that his department has received reports of sightings from “credible sources.”

People have called police to report seeing clowns in traffic on busy State Route 46.

Other calls include clowns standing outside windows.

Chief Colucci believes the sightings are a result of pranks being pulled by kids who don't know the dangers of clowning around.

No one has been arrested in Canfield, but the Associated Press reports that as of Saturday, seven people who pulled clown pranks have been arrested in the Cincinnati area.

Clown sightings have been reported in several states in recent weeks.
