Fire sweeps through Bristol Township home

Posted: Updated:
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

Firefighters were called out twice to a fire that destroyed a Bristol Township home Sunday morning.

The call came in just after 3:00 a.m. on the 1300 block of State Route 88.

When those first on the scene found flames throughout the interior the house, they called in a second alarm to dispatch firefighters from other departments.

About a half hour later, part of the home collapsed which according to firefighters, made battling the flames more difficult.

Firefighters cleared the scene, but had to return a couple hours later when the flames rekindled.

No one was home at the time.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire, but say the home is considered a total loss.
