GIRARD, Ohio - A precautionary boil advisory has been lifted for residents in a Girard neighborhood.

Residents living between the addresses 990 and 1616 East Liberty Street were advised Thursday evening to boil water they intended to use before cooking or drinking.

Girard Public Service Director Jerry Lambert announced that a contractor had punctured a water line, which has been resolved as of Saturday morning.

The U.S. EPA requires that all water suppliers issue an alert within 24 hours whenever water lines lose pressure.
