NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -

There will be a new boy's basketball coach at Springfield High School this season.

Veteran coach Eric Fender did not reapply for the position he's held for eight seasons.

Fender was 138-48 with one district championship and five league ITCL Crowns during his tenure.

The Tigers finished 16-8 last season and will drop to Division IV in the new OHSAA realignment.

The Springfield Athletic Department is accepting applications for the opening.
