Fire leaves Youngstown woman homeless

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The Youngstown Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out early Friday at a home on the city's South Side.

The alarm went out shortly after 5 am when firefighters were dispatched to an occupied house fire on the 300 block of East Philadelphia Ave.

The woman who lives at the home was not injured, however firefighters tell 21 News that damage extended from the front bedroom to the back of the home, leaving it uninhabitable.

The Red Cross has been called to provide shelter, clothing or other needs for the woman displaced by the fire.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
