A Liberty High School graduate is using his life long battle with epilepsy to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

Dozens of people rallied behind Liberty native David Moamis. Diagnosed with the disease at age 3, he's now helping others going through the same struggle.

New Life Lutheran Church in Liberty was decked out in purple, the color of Epilepsy awareness.

There was food, elaborate basket raffles and other activities for all ages. T

his was all part of the effort to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of America. David said he wants to help those going through the same daily struggle.

"If I have a seizure, I'll maybe relax and lay down, get up and say, 'hey, let's go do an activity, go to the movies.' Just move on with your life. You can't let it stop you."

The event on Saturday night raised $2,035 for the epilepsy foundation.
