Youngstown is looking to fill teaching positions by September

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Youngstown City Schools are looking for all highly-skilled high school math teachers and they say they are willing to negotiate salaries to get them.

"School starts in less than a month and we would like to start the year with these teaching positions filled," said CEO Krish Mohip.

The first day back to school is September 5.

The school district says they hope to hire about six new high school math teachers to fill the positions of teachers who left for jobs in other districts in 2016-2017.

"For years, the Youngstown City School District has lost good, quality teachers to other school districts that pay more," Mohip said. "That can't continue. Our children need and deserve the best teachers we can provide. If that means we have to offer more to attract them, then that's a small price to pay for students' education."

If anyone is interested in applying, go to the website www.ycsd.org and click on the "Staff" box at the top of the page. From there, scroll down to "Employment Opportunities" and then click "High School Teaching".
