YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

YWCA of Youngstown is the recipient of a $5,000 grant from CareSource Foundation.

The grant was awarded for the organization's Barbara Wick Transitional Housing program.

The program is designed to meet the shelter and support needs for homeless women.

The housing program includes locating child care services, permanent housing and health services for the women.

Case management services are also offered through the program, including referrals to legal services, substance abuse, mental health services, vocational training, and support groups.

Officials at YWCA say the organization is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice and help and strengthen families.
