YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University and several other local organizations are celebrating summer with a variety of events this weekend, including the 20th Annual YSU Summer Festival of the Arts.

The weekend starts on Thursday as Youngstown kicks off the St. Nicholas Greek Summerfest on Walnut Street. The festival includes music, dancing, Greek food, and a display of cultural memorabilia. 

The festival runs from Thursday to Sunday and admission is free. It's open Thursday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.

The 20th Annual YSU Summer Festival of the Arts is Saturday and Sunday on YSU's campus. 

The festival showcases the work of more than 85 artists who sell hand-crafted pieces of jewelry, paintings, sketches, sculptures, glass, and wood.

The festival also features dozens of music and theater performances.

The Summerfest is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. 

On Saturday night, Youngstown Wine and Jazz will be held near Central Square in downtown Youngstown. The night features Jeff Lorber, an award-winning fusion keyboardist. 

Several wineries and breweries will attend.

Tickets can be purchased at the Covelli Centre Box Office for $10.

Youngstown Comic-Con kicks off Saturday at the Covelli Centre.

The event, presented by All American Cards and Comics, is Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The convention includes 125 vendors, comics, arts, and cosplay.

Admission for the event is $15 a day.
