YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

A fire destroyed a home on Ravine Road in Youngstown early Saturday morning.

The Youngstown Fire Department says that around 2:30 a.m. they were called to the scene of a fire, and by the time they arrived the fire had destroyed most of the home.

Officials say that it appears to be a total loss.

The Youngstown Fire Department confirms that there was no one home at the time of the fire.

However, there were animals present in the home, and at least one of them died in the fire.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
