Red Cross helping Lisbon area fire victims

Posted: Updated:

The Red Cross has been called out to help a Columbiana County family that lost most of their belongings in a fire.

Lisbon Fire Cheif Paul Gresh Jr. tells 21 News that his department and a crew from the West Point Fire Department were called out at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday to a mobile home fire on the 8700 block of Scroggs Road in Elk Run Township.

It only took firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

Although no one was home at the time, the fire destroyed about 80% of the family's possessions.

The Red Cross is helping the family find another place to live.

Chief Gresh says he believes the fire started because of some type of electrical problem.
