AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - A new addiction rehabilitation clinic is opening in the same Austintown building that once housed a rehab business raided by federal and state agents last year.

According to a news release, Valor Recovery Center of Youngstown will begin offering limited rehabilitation behavioral services beginning Monday.

Valor Recovery occupies the same space as the former Braking Point at 45 North Canfield Niles Road.

Braking Point and it's owner Ryan Sheridan are the subject of a federal investigation into alleged Medicaid fraud, according to court documents.

Valor is being operated by James M. Conti Sr., who according to state records also operates Valor Recovery Center of Columbus.

Conti plans to open with limited services next week and expand into their full-service programming in the coming months.

Therapist and counselor Misty A. Long has been named as Executive Director at Valor and Dr. Amanda S. Pears Hartwell is the Medical Director.

"Beginning July 16 we are prepared to offer Partial Hospitalization Programming, Intensive Outpatient Programming, and Outpatient Programming to a limited number of individuals, up to 15 clients per service. We will expand that number upon receipt of additional approvals." stated Long.

According to the news release, Valor is prepared to provide Residential Services once it receives approval from Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services, which will provide Mahoning County and surrounding areas with 60 residential beds.

Valor says it also plans to provide Ambulatory Detox services. Programming will include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management and medication-assisted treatment, as well as yoga and exercise activities.
