Muscle Connection H.S. Football Preview: Hubbard Eagles

Posted: Updated:

Hubbard Eagles | Players: 66 | Offensive Starters: 8 | Defensive Starters: 7 | Seniors:14

A year after finishing 5-5, the Hubbard football program is eager to return to playoff form and have the tools to do it.

"We return some guys that had an opportunity to play when they were young, so we do have some veterans back," said head coach Brian Hoffman.

Leading the way on offense is senior quarterback Davion Daniels.

"We're pretty solid in that position," said a smiling Hoffman. "He's worked hard so far and the best thing about him, he's intelligent and picks up the players around him."

The Eagles return plenty of skilled position players led by Bray Donlow, Rafael Morales, and Lukas Mosora.

"Jeremia Harris will probably carry the ball for us and at split end, we have Jayquan Odem, Shannon Slovesko, and Sam Mauk."

Defensively, the Eagles return seven led by Mosora.

"He's a three-year starter and alongside him, we have Josiah Tarver," Hoffman said.

In the secondary, six or seven guys are competing for playing time.

Hoffman feels the Eagles can return to playoff mode if they play well, improve every week and right now he feels they have the right attitude to do that.

The Eagles kick off their season against Alliance.
