YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Two schools in the Valley area adjusting schedules Wednesday because of the hot weather.

Summit Academy Secondary School in Youngstown has reported that they will be closed today, August 29 due to the heat.

The schools' principal, Ashley Martin, called to cancel Wednesday's school day.

Summit Academy Secondary School is located on Shady Run Road. 

And for the second day in a row, Southern Local Schools will release students early on Wednesday.

School officials say they will run the same schedule as they did on Tuesday.

The Junior High and High School will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and the Elementary School students will be released at 12:45 p.m.

Students will have breakfast and lunch before dismissal. Officials say they will return to the normal schedule on Thursday.
