Poland Township running group runs for empowerment and safety

POLAND TWP., Ohio -

After the recent indictment of Shawn Wendling for a series of alleged rapes in parks, including Poland Township Park, a women's running group came together to stand for safety and feel empowerment.

The running group is called F.A.S.T Women.

It stands for fearless, aware, strong, together woman.

The group met at Poland Township Park on Saturday evening to run together.

"We felt that getting a group of specialty women together to show that we are aware of what's going on, but that we don't need to be afraid to still do what we are doing in our neighborhoods," said group member Sarah Bashinski.

Other members of the group said despite the recent attacks on women in parks, they're not living in fear.
